I got to babysit this adorable baby girl this morning. Totally worth getting up 30 minutes earlier than normal and getting to work 3 hours later than normal.
After work, it was off to Todd's for test #2 of the week. Only today, unlike Tuesday, I had a plan for the 5-mile, all-out, go-as-hard-as-you-can sufferfest.
- 1:11:18, 154 HR (195 max)
- 49:48 warmup, 146 HR
- 13:46 test, 188 HR, 226 watts
- 7:43 cooldown, 150 HR
These are my results from the previous TTs I've done at Todd's:

Everything about today's test except the outcome was different than Tuesday's test. How does that happen? Oh, well, Will has said, "Consistency is the key to success," so I'm going to keep that in mind. I did the warm up different because my plan for the test was different. My plan for the test was to pace Valerie; she hadn't tested Tuesday and had helped keep me apprised of where I was on the course, so I was willing to help her where she needed it. She said her goal was to average about 22mph, so that's what I did (I was pretty much between 21.5 and 22.2 the entire time). I never really looked at anything else (my HR, my distance, the time), though I did look at my watts a few times. The highest average I noticed was 231; a vast difference from the 286 I saw on Tuesday and a much smaller difference from the 226 I ended up at.
