Hill Repeats

Today is an exciting day: Kristen, my best friend from high school, had a healthy baby boy at 12:46am! I haven't seen pictures of little Levi Alan yet, but they texted and said he was a healthy 7lb, 4oz, and 21in long. Hooray! Hopefully this summer I will be able to take a trip up to WI to visit them and see the new little one.

I got in a good little hill run today, outside, while it was gorgeous outside. I did the same route as last week, same distance, 1 minute slower, but added in 2 more hill repeats. The sad thing about today was that (untimed) I had to take a little bathroom break right in the middle of my hill repeats! Thankfully I was near restrooms and it didn't take much time, but I was disappointed in my own lack of planning. Pace last time, 37:39 for 4.5 miles, was 8:22, and HR was 170 (188 max). 8:26 out, 7:55 back in (389 longest uphill).
  • 38:33, 4.50 miles, 8:34 pace (5:30 best), 536 cal, 135 HR (182 max)
  • Warm up: 12 minutes, 1.43 mi, 8:24 pace, 154 HR
  • Hill 1 + downhill 1: 264 feet, 171 HR; 496 feet, 172 HR
  • Hill 2 + downhill 2: 338 feet, 168 HR; 0.10 mi, 171 HR
  • Hill 3 + downhill 3: 366 feet, 166 HR; 0.10 mi, 172 HR
  • Hill 4 + downhill 4: 348 feet, 167 HR; 513 feet, 172 HR
  • Hill 5 + downhill 5: 303 feet, 165 HR; 0.10 mi, 171 HR
  • Hill 6 + downhill 6: 354 feet, 162 HR; 0.10 mi, 171 HR
  • Hill 7 + downhill 7: 372 feet, 171 HR; 0.11 mi, 178 HR
  • Hill 8 + downhill 8: 340 feet, 170 HR; 0.10 mi, 176 HR
  • Hill 9 + downhill 9: 347 feet, 168 HR; 0.10 mi, 175 HR
  • Hill 10 + downhill 10: 371 feet, 171 HR; 0.11 mi, 174 HR
  • Cool down: 11:33, 1.41 mi, 8:13 pace, 169 HR
It was super nice out, so I took a 3-mile walk at lunch, found a few tennis courts so that maybe Delana and I can play one day at lunch, and then went home and walked around outside a little more. I wanted to have taken my book out to read, but it wasn't quite nice enough to just sit. I enjoyed it, though, and it's a good thing, too, since it's supposed to rain all day tomorrow.
